Where this started, and who it was for
The first build was an investment platform and its back office for HW Legacy Group, in March 2025. There was no brand and no offer, just a job that needed doing.
Client: HW Legacy Group.
This practice did not start as a practice. It started in March 2025 with one job: a property and business investment platform for the North East, and everything behind it.
The public site is the part people see. The part that decided whether the thing worked was the back office. An investment group runs on documents, so there is a document suite. Someone who is not a developer has to change the words on a page, so there is a content system they can actually use. Opportunities are worth nothing without a pipeline attached to them, so there is a CRM holding investors and their state. And none of it matters if nobody arrives, so there is a marketing surface feeding the top.
That combination is the shape of nearly every build since. A site is the visible tenth of the job. The other nine tenths are the systems that make the site do something.
A certify-first gate was added later, so regulated material sits behind it rather than on an open page. That was not foresight. It was a correction, and it is the reason the same gate now goes in at the start on anything that touches regulated communication.
